Switch Truck Driver – St. Augustine, FL

Qualifications

• Valid Driver’s License.
Preferred:
• Previous experience operating switch trucks.
• Knowledge of trailer handling and yard safety protocols.

Job description

• Monday – Friday, half day Saturday
• Day shift
• Paid Weekly
• $15 – $17 PAY DEPENDS ON EXPERIENCE

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
•Trailer Handling and Yard Operations
o Operate switch trucks to hook up and position trailers for loading and unloading.
o Prepare trailers for pickup by moving them from loading bays and tarping as necessary.
o Maintain smooth pit traffic flow by directing internal and external vehicles for safe and efficient yard operations
•Equipment Maintenance and Inspections
o Perform routine inspections on company equipment for cleanliness, DOT compliance, and repair needs.
o Conduct pre- and post-trip safety checks on tractors, trucks, and trailers as per DOT regulations.
o Ensure yard and equipment are clean and prepped, including trailers, tailgates, tires, reflective tape, and lights.
•Safety and Reporting
o Identify and document potential job hazards in compliance with company policies.
o Ensure equipment is properly shut down and stored at the end of each shift.
o Adhere to all company safety standards and wear required PPE, including hearing protection, dust masks,safety glasses, boots, and harnesses.
